A Quieter Start to the Year…

Life, work, and a full Ironman

Where I’ve Been

If you’ve noticed things have been a little quiet from me lately… you’d be right. At the start of the year, I made a conscious decision to step away from social media for a while — not forever, just long enough to focus on what really mattered both in life and in work.

And it turns out… quite a lot happened in that time.

Life Lately: House Moves & Ironman Training

I’ve moved house — which anyone who’s done it knows is basically a full-time job in itself.
On top of that, my husband and I have been designing our own home — watch this space for some build progress updates later in the year!

And I’ve also decided to take on something that’s been on my mind for a while… I’m training for a full Ironman in Leeds this August.
Yes — the full one.
And yes… I might have slightly underestimated what that actually involves.

Someone — actually my brother — said to me recently, “why don’t you just put the Ironman on hold?”
But the truth is, it’s the one thing I do purely for myself.
Time out on the bike, no noise, no questions, no notifications. Just space.
(Which feels especially valuable when your day-to-day also includes questions like “what if the tooth fairy can’t find my tooth?” or “what happens if you get blood in your eye?”)

Training has become my reset button. It forces me to step away, refill the bucket, and come back clearer, calmer — and better at everything else.

New Projects

Alongside all that, work hasn’t slowed down. I’ve had the chance to start working with some brilliant new clients:

  • Online Direct – opening up access to the B2B energy market for consultants and businesses, with Zephyr supporting the development of their brand
  • Popham – a planning consultancy doing things differently, with a meticulous approach focused on maximising success — working with Zephyr on the design and presentation of their planning submissions
  • GK Signs – specialists in signage and visual branding, with Zephyr supporting projects across hoarding, vehicle livery, building signage, and wayfinding

Giving Back to the Community

One of the projects I’ve enjoyed most this year was creating a brand and simple website for Kehelland Community Hub.
Community has always been important to me, and this project was a way to use my skills to support something I care about.

Evolving Long-Term Partnerships

I’ve also continued working with long-standing clients, including Frith Psychiatry and Corten Metals.
These projects have been about evolution — refining their identity and marketing so it reflects who they are today, not who they were when we first started working together years ago.

I’m Back and Ready to Share

I’m looking forward to sharing more of what’s been happening behind the scenes again.
And if anyone fancies joining me for Ironman Leeds on August 16th… let me know.
(Or we can just go for a coffee — slightly less commitment.)
