This month we got the chance to try our hand at Wake Boarding with our lovely new client Kernow Wake Park in Halvasso, Cornwall, and it’s safe to say we all had a splashing good time.

Set in a disused quarry, the water depth is about 12 meters so there was no chance of hitting the bottom when we bailed out. Expecting the temperature of the water to be a bit on the chilly side, we armed ourselves with our wetsuits but were pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be “quite toasty” as Dave, one of our designers, pointed out.

We all managed to stay standing on our first run, although that didn’t last long – there were a few impressive splash downs, but the safety gear kept us all in one piece! By the end of our session we’d all accomplished at least one turn and Jody even dared to go off a kicker…kind of.

At the moment they’ve got one cable and a load of different obstacles to try out and they’ll be opening a second cable in the new season next year which means there will be double the fun for more people to have a go.

It was brilliant fun, we all ached for days and we’ll definitely go again!
